The R-Board strives to provide professional, courteous and intelligent solutions to the waste disposal needs of citizens in Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg.
The R-Board aspires to operate the best-run landfill in Virginia. Our landfill has environmentally sound waste management policies and an active recycling program.
We promote our core values: Balance, Empowerment, Service and Teamwork. Established in 1987, the R-Board is a joint venture of the governments of Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg charged with the operation and maintenance of the Regional Landfill and recycling drop-off facilities in Stafford and Fredericksburg. No tax dollars fund our facilities, as revenue is produced through fees charged to dispose of trash at the landfill, and goes directly into the operating fund. The R-Board meets quarterly. In an effort to be the best in municipal solid waste management, we help to facilitate responsible trash disposal, provide recycling opportunities, and promote renewable energy generation.
The R-Board has developed, and submits to the VA Department of Environmental Quality for approval, a Solid Waste Management Plan. The plan is reviewed and recertified every 5 years. Click HERE to download a copy of the 2006 Solid Waste Management Plan, recertified in 2011.
